Did you get cash or a FiberWild! Gift Certificate for Christmas?  Lucky you!  It's time to decide how to spend it . . . and now you can make that gift money stretch even farther with our After Christmas Sale!

Remember the old days when an "After Christmas Sale" meant nothing but the hideous Christmas decorations and left-over ugly wrapping paper that stores weren't able to sell in time for Christmas?  Well, that's not the case with this sale!  In addition to our usual great deals on our Sales & Outlet, we have over 20 new yarns on sale especially for our After Christmas Sale.

A few of my favorite yarns include:

American B.R.A.N.D. yarn

Holiday Central - Gifts for Knitters

Dream Club December Cowl
By now you are (or should be) knee-deep into your holiday knitting, working your fingers to the bone finishing hand-made gifts for those you love.  But what about gifts for you?

Non-knitters can be intimidated when buying gifts for knitters.  It's not enough that yarn comes in different colors, it also comes in different fibers and weights.  We've made it easy to get some perfect gifts for knitters and crocheters with the great ideas at Holiday Central - and especially the Gifts for Knitters and Crocheters, Stocking Stuffers and Gift Certificates tabs.  Just pass the links (or this blog) along to those who may be shopping for you.  We suggest you prod them with a gentle little reminder, such as "HEY!!!  Look here for some great gift ideas for me! Hint, Hint, Hint!"

Gifts For Knitters and Crocheters ...
  • First determine
    della Q Lena Bag
if she is a knitter or a crocheter.  The two are very different, and while many people do both most prefer one over the other.  If you're not sure (or if she does both) I suggest the Dream in Color December Dream Club kit.  The kit includes two cowl patterns - one knit and one crochet - plus enough yarn to complete the project.  The kit has only been available since December 1st, so you know it's not something that she already bought for herself years ago.
  • You've probably noticed that knitters carry around a lot of stuff!  The della Q bags are specifically designed with knitters in mind - sturdy bags that won't tip over and include small pockets for needles and a big pocket for your pattern.  And they're stylish!  The Lena bag is a great bag for traveling, and the Agnes bag is huge enough to get just about everything inside.
  • If you often see your knitter using circular needles (a cable with a needle at each end), then surprise her with an interchangeable set.  ChiaoGoo's new 4 inch sets are a great choice.  The Spin sets have wooden needles that swivel, and the Twist sets have stainless steel needles.  The hot, new addi Rocket Clicks (aka Lace Long Tip Sets) combine the fantastic addi Rocket needles with interchangeables.  Give us a call and we can help you decide which set your knitter would prefer.
  • addi Rocket Clicks
  • Befuddled by interchangeables?  The FiberWild! Exclusive addi Click Starter Kit is a combo-platter offering a sample of all the different addi interchangeable tips available.  Let her test drive all the addi varieties to see which she likes best!  (Plus once you know which set she prefers you'll have a great gift idea for her birthday, anniversary, Valentine's Day . . . )
  • The "Knit, Swirl" book by Sandra McIver presents 18 designs for a "swirl" coat that flatters all figures and is fun to knit!  We've created Knit, Swirl yarn kits for the two most popular designs, the Coat of Many (or One) Colors and Plum Perfect
  • Great things come in small packages!  All of our Stocking Stuffers are less than $25, and quite a few are just $5.
We offer free shipping on orders over $75, but you also have the option to use a faster delivery service if necessary.  Don't forget to check out shipping deadlines on our website!

Plum Perfect Knit, Swirl Coat
Not real confident that the gift you bought is the right one?  We are happy to work with you to make sure the knitter in your life is happy!

Still not sure?  A Gift Certificate is always the right size and color!  Get your knitter a Gift Certificate, and then let her loose in the store or online to pick out exactly what she wants!  And procrastinators can rest easy . . . e-mail Gift Certificates can be ordered up until noon on Christmas Eve and still arrive in time for Christmas!

Feel free to call the shop for help and questions when shopping for your knitter.

Night of the Luminaria

This Saturday (December 13) Galena will light up the night with its annual Night of the Luminaria from 6 to 9 pm.

Modern luminaria usually consist of a small candles inside paper lunch bags weighted with sand, the simple bags trace their history to ornate, hand-cut Chinese paper lanterns.  Spanish merchants were intrigued with the Chinese paper lanterns, and when they returned to Spain they created the simpler version.  The Spaniards used the lumineria along the walkways of their homes to help lead the spirit of the Christ child into their home at Christmas time.

Luminaria are beautiful in almost any setting, but Galena's over 5,000 candle-lit luminaries along the streets, steps and walkways of Galena's steep hills and riverbank create one of the most beautiful and romantic visions of the year.  The old fashioned charm of Galena is enhanced by the unforgettable magical glow whether you are strolling along Main Street or pausing at a high point to take in the view.

We will be closing at our usual 5 pm closing time.  I think Sean and I will take a walk and enjoy the annual event ... be sure to say hello if you bump into us!

Relax and enjoy the beautiful night this Saturday - And Happy Knitting . . . . Amy

Whatcha Knitting?

The Pucker Up Cowl
Around the store we often greet other with "Whatcha knitting?"  We chat (and yes, even brag) about what knitting projects we are working on at home, and of course this time of year we are all frantically knitting our holiday projects.  I thought I would share some of them with you ...

Nicki's knitting the Basic Toe Up Adult DK Socks in Mountain Color's Bearfoot yarn.  The Basic Toe Up sock is a fast, simple knit that's great for beginning sock knitters and experienced sock knitters too.  She won't tell us who the socks are for, but I think the simple unisex design would look great on that new man in her life! (She doesn't kiss and tell!)

Buttonhole Scarf
Nicki's also knitting the Pucker Up Cowl, one of our newest patterns - and the pattern is free with the purchase of Filatura Di Crosa's Superior yarn!  Superior truly is a superior yarn - a brushed blend of cashmere and silk with a lovely halo.  Vera is also knitting a cowl with Superior, she is free-styling without a pattern! (You Go Girl!)

Suzy's knitting the Buttonhole Scarf for her mother, a cute scarf with a nifty "buttonhole" to keep the scarf in place.  A few years ago Suzy made her mother the Bow Tie Scarf, a very similar pattern that also features a buttonhole.  Her mother has a new winter coat this year and has very strongly hinted that she simply must have a new scarf in a different color to match the new coat.  Suzy's using her own Suzy the Shepherdess Shepherdess Worsted 100% wool yarn. She began with the cream color and then used grape Kool-Aide to dye it a vivid purple.

Star Crossed Cowl
The store's new bride, Wendi, is knitting the Star Crossed Cowl in Dream in Color's Jilly yarn, a fantastic single ply fingering weight yarn in superwash wool.  Fuss-free and warm, Jilly is available in over 50 colors.  If she wanted to, Wendi could make two or three Star Crossed Cowls for every woman in her new extended family without duplicating any colors!

Wendi is also knitting the Neon Ski Bonnet, a free Ravelry pattern.  The stocking hat has a double thickness band over the ears with ties at the neck to keep it on the head no matter how fast you ski!  She is using HiKoo's Kenzie, a slightly fuzzy blend of merino wool, angora, alpaca, silk and nylon - and Kenzie is on sale at 20% off!

Karen's knitting with Jilly too, doing the Fall Colors Wrap - another free pattern!  The three-color wrap can be knit with any of Jilly's over 50 colors.  Karen is using the limited edition fall colors Ginger Ninja, The Great Pumpkin and Swamp Thing.  They look great together - and the three new colors are on sale at 20% off!

Fall Colors Wrap
Amber and Jessie are still learning how to knit.  We've suggested they take one of my fun beginner classes.  You don't have to know how to knit to work here (both are in the shipping department), but it makes it a whole lot more fun if you do!

Gradient-1 Shawl
As for me, I can't get enough of the Mountain Colors Yarn Twizzle Gradient packs, a three-pack of the same color in a light, medium and dark skein.  I'm knitting the Gradient-1 Shawl as a gift (and - Shhh! - I'm also designing a Gradient-2 Shawl pattern!).

We are all having fun with our holiday knitting projects.  I hope you are too!

Happy Knitting . . . . Amy

After-Holiday KAL Knitting - Kenzie Yarn 20% Off!

I'm sure you are in the midst of your holiday knitting ... deciding who on your gift list is hand-knit worthy and selecting your patterns and yarn - then knitting every free moment!  But have you given any thought to your January knitting?  Well, you need a plan!

Once the holiday hustle is over it will be time to settle down and knit something for yourself.  It's always more fun to knit with a friend, and our friend Michelle Hunter has stepped up to the plate with the latest Michelle Hunter Knit Along: "The Endgame Scarf".

We don't know exactly what the scarf will look like - that's the fun part of a mystery knit along - but Michelle has promised gorgeous cables and calls the scarf "a classic, yet modern, scarf" in a unisex design.  Michelle will introduce a cast on and bind off technique that is new to the series, so you can learn some new skills while creating your scarf.

Kenzie in Hebes (Pink)
Never done a KAL?  It's easy ... Michelle will reveal the pattern on her website in four segments, starting on Thursday, January 1st - the perfect way to start out your new year!  How much does it cost?  Nothing!  You don't have to register or pay any fee to participate. You may even win some cool prizes from SkacelHave a question?  No problem, Michelle posts photos and online video instructions, plus you can post questions on Michelle's KAL site or in her Ravelry group. Questions are typically answered daily.  It's like having a knitting tutor right by your side!  And it's OK to get video help at 3 am - perhaps your grandmother isn't so accommodating!

So what do you need?  We've got that covered . . .

Kenzie Yarn - 20% Off!
Kenzie in Tahake (Blue)
You'll need 3(4) skeins of Kenzie yarn by HiKoo, all in the same color.  Have you tried Kenzie yet?  It just may be the perfect tweed.  Kenzie is a blend of New Zealand merino, angora and alpaca to lend softness and body, nylon which adds strength and fun silk noils that create a delicate texture and color accents. The smooth, round 3-ply yarn knits into a cohesive fabric that blooms when wet blocked. The angora haze is just fuzzy enough to lend a cozy feel, but not so fuzzy that it will obscure any stitch patterning.  Kenzie is available in 30 brilliant colors - and we've got all of them on sale at 20% off!

You'll also need 10 yards of waste yarn in a contrasting color and a weight similar to Kenzie.  Look through your stash!  If you did the Fiber Factor Bravura cape or the Fiber Factor Plaid is the New Black shawl then you may have some left over Kenzie.

You'll need a US#6 (4mm) and a US#7 (4.5mm) or the sizes needed to obtain gauge.  I prefer the addi Turbo needles, but ALL of our addi needles are on sale at 20% off.  Choose your favorite between the addi Turbos, aluminum, bamboo, plastic or the beginner-friendly Linos

Kenzie in Wombat (Brown)
You'll also need a cable needle and a tapestry needle.

Give us a call if we can help you with your yarn, needle or notion selections!

Now that your January project plan is all set, you can get back to work on your holiday knitting!

To Knit or To Crochet: The December Dream Club Kit

"To Knit or to Crochet . . ."
William Shakespeare's Hamlet famously asks "To knit or to crochet, that is the question . . . "  Ok, so maybe that's not exactly what he said, but it is a question I've often asked myself:  Do I want to start a knitting project next, or should I start a crochet project?

Well, you don't have to decide with Dream in Color's Dream Club exclusive December yarn and pattern.  This month's kit is a snugly cowl by Melissa Leapman with two patterns: "Alexandra" is the knit version and "Andrea" is the crochet version.  Both create a perfect accessory for those snowy days to come!  Knit (or crochet) one for yourself, give one as a gift this holiday season, or give the kit to your favorite knitter or crocheter!

Choose the Alexandra Cowl (knit) or Andrea Cowl (crochet)
Here's the best part.  The Dream Club kit colors are exclusively dyed for the Dream Club kits - and when they're gone, they're gone!  December's yarn is Dream in Color's Classy, a 75% superwash merino wool with 25% nylon to add durability.

And the color?  Oh, the color!  December's vibrant color is a fun mix of greens, aquas, blues, purples and yellows.  Yummy!

Each kit includes:
  • Electronic download of the Alexandra Cowl pattern (the knit version)
  • Electronic download of Andrea Cowl pattern (the crochet version)
  • One over-sized skein of Dream in Color's exclusive December color in Classy yarn, which is enough to complete the pattern.
Dream Club December Yarn
You'll also need a US 9/5.50 mm and US 10/6.00 mm 20" circular knitting needle or a US J/10 (6.00 mm) crochet hook, or the size to obtain gauge.  Needles and hooks are not included in the kit.

(Did you miss the November Dream Club kit?  There are still a few kits remaining - get 'em before they're gone!)

New Exclusive Gradient Colors from Mountain Colors!

Gradient-1 Shawl in Twizzle Harmony Mist
Mountain Colors Yarn has so many colors to choose from, it's hard to pick a favorite.  It's even harder to pick two or three colors to compliment each other for a project.  Or rather, it was hard - but we've made it easy!

We love the Mountain Colors Twizzle yarn, a soft blend of merino wool and silk plied together. Each strand has a beautiful combination of color with a subtle variation in color depth.  You can never have too much of a good thing, so the ladies at Mountain Color Yarn took our five favorite Twizzle colors and created a light, a medium and a dark variation of each.  The result is three different shades that compliment each other perfectly.  The new yarns are sold as “Twizzle Gradient Packs.”  Each pack has three 250 yard skeins (a total of 750 yards) of the same color in a dark, a medium and a light skein.

Every new yarn needs a great pattern ... so I set to work!  I designed an asymmetrical shawl that is simple and stylish, with just enough pattern to make the knitting interesting ... and let the gradients do the work!

Bonus: The pattern is FREE with the purchase of a Gradient Yarn Pack!

Twizzle Gradient Pack in Harmony Moss
“Gradient-1 Shawl” is knit with one yarn pack. Start knitting the skinny end with the lightest color; build with the medium value and finally add a little texture with the darkest color at the wide end. The shawl is done primarily in stockinette stitch with garter ridges at the color changes and some lace patterning with the dark color. It measures 72” across the top edge and 22” at the center point.

You will need a size US 6 (4.0 mm) 40” circular needle. Try the nickle plated Addi Turbos or the sharp pointed Addi Rockets. Adjust the needle size to obtain a gauge 5.5 sts per inch in stockinette stitch if necessary.  No notions required, except chocolate.

Twizzle Gradient Pack in Harmony Plum
You will note that pattern name is “Gradient-1 Shawl."  Hmm . . . perhaps that might suggest there could be a sequel!

Call us if we can help with your yarn, needle or color selections!

Holiday Central - It's That Time of Year!

The Pucker Up Cowl
Usually the holiday season sneaks up on me.  There I am, counting my Halloween candy, and the next thing you know - BAM! - it's mid-December and I'm asking, "How did that happen?"

But winter is not quietly slipping in this year!  The headline on weather.com is "Arctic Blast Will Leave No State Untouched!"  On Sunday the low overnight in Galena was 4 degrees!

So how do I respond to an early arctic blast?  With an early jump on holiday knitting, of course!

But where to start . . . We have thousands of yarns and patterns, and while you are certainly welcome to scroll through each and every one looking for gift ideas, you don't have to.  We've made it easy with our Holiday Central.

Gifts to Knit

You'll find great projects categorized into:
Changing Ribs Cowl
That's still a lot of choices, so I've cut it down further with my top three favorites:
  • The Pucker Up Cowl is a lighter-than-air beauty knit with Filatura Di Crosa's Superior yarn, a blend of cashmere, silk and a small bit of wool.  It only takes one skein of Superior - and the pattern is FREE with your purchase of Superior.  Take your pick of over 15 colors!
  • The Changing Ribs Cowl is a quick-knit, warm cowl knit with HiKoo's Helix, a fun thick-and-thin single ply yarn supported with a binder thread.  The fun texture and terrific colors make this a great gift for someone  - or for yourself!
  • The Baby Cable and Rib Hat has constant cables and ribs.  The pattern holds your attention - a great way to wind down and keep your mind on your knitting and away from the stress of your day.  I recommend using Tahki's Cotton Classic Lite (and the yarn is currently on sale at 20% off until the end of November!), but the hat also knits up well in wool.
 Gifts for You

We've also got gift suggestions for friends to give to you under
Baby Cable and Rib Hat
The two Stocking Stuffers that are always on my list:
  • Nothing is worse than putting on hand lotion and  being too greasy to knit!  Stop waving your hands around in the air waiting for your lotion to dry and use Lavishea lotion bars.  The bars are made with unrefined fair trade shea butter and 100% natural soy, complimented with premium skin-safe fragrance in your choice of eight different scents.  It absorbs quickly and completely without  leaving a greasy residue.  Moisturize, and then get back to your knitting!
  • Take good care of your hand knits with Eucalan's Wool WashThe lanolin enriched formula helps to naturally condition fibers and keeps static away, and the Eucalyptus oil is a natural moth inhibitor.  This wash is a must-use before storing your wool items away for the season!

Twist and Shout while you Twist and Spin - and Save 20%!

Cover of Twist and Shout (1963)
Every time I think of ChiaoGoo's Twist and Spin sets, I can't help hearing The Beatles singing "Twist and Shout" in the back of my head . . .

C'mon c'mon, baby now, twist and shout!

Admit it - the song is stuck in your head now, too!  Keep singing (and twisting and shouting), because the song is great background music to announce our new sale of 20% off everything ChiaoGoo!

Our 20% off sale includes everything: their super-sharp Red Steel Lace needles, gorgeous bamboo straight and double point knitting needles, strong and stylish bamboo crochet hooks, and Twist and Spin sets - including the new 4" Twist and Spin sets.

So what are the Twist and Spin sets?

ChiaoGoo Twist Connection
The ChiaoGoo Twist Interchangeable Set is everything you love about ChiaoGoo's Steel Red Lace circular needles - lightweight yet strong stainless steel needle tips, flexible nylon-coated steel cables, and sharp lace tips.  The join between the needle tip and the cable is a twist mechanism (hence the name Twist) and is secured by a key.  The interchangeables also feature lifeline holes in the cables.

ChiaoGoo Spin Connection
The ChiaoGoo Spin Interchangeable Set uses warm-to-the-touch, earth friendly bamboo needles.  The join between the needle tip and the cable is a spin-able screw mechanism (hence the name Spin) and is secured by a key so they won't pop off. These interchangeables also feature lifeline holes in the cables, so you will never have to unravel a piece over a mistake again.

Both the Twist and Spin sets are available in the standard 5 inch needle, but an exciting new addition to the collection is a 4 inch needle.  So why make such a fuss over one inch?  The slightly smaller needle, when combined with a 8 inch cables, creates a 16 inch circular needle - perfect for hat knitting!

New - 4" ChiaoGoo Twist Set
The 5" ChiaoGoo Twist Set comes in Small (needle sizes US 2 - US 8), Large (US 9 - US 15) and Complete (US 2 - US 15).  The 4" Twist Set comes in Small (needle sizes US 2 - 8) and Complete (US 2 - US 15)

The Spin sets come in the same sizes:  a 5" Small  (needle sizes US 2 - US 8), Large (US 9 - US 15) and Complete (US 2 - US 15) set and the 4" Spin Set comes in Small (needle sizes US 2 - 8) and Complete (US 2 - US 15).

For more details on these fantastic interchangeable sets click here!

Leary of purchasing items made in China?  No worries.  These needles are not made in a Chinese sweatshop.  ChiaoGoo is manufactured by a family-owned business which prides themselves with offering high quality products backed by a lifetime guarantee.  Started by four brothers, they were taught bamboo work by their father and grandfather, both traveling bamboo craftsman.  But their real inspiration came from their mother, an avid knitter who was their needle tester and often asked for special bamboo needles to meet her needs.  The family is proud of their quality ChiaoGoo needles - and I know you will be, too!

This sale ends November 30th, 2014 so be sure to shop soon! Give me a call if I can help you with your needle selection!

November Dream Club Yarn & Pattern

Sachy Hat & Mitts
Join the club! It's time for Dream in Color's Dream Club exclusive November yarn and pattern! This exclusive color was dyed only for the Dream Club - and when it's gone, it's gone!

The Dream Club has no membership fee or secret handshake.  Just order the kit and start knitting!

November's cozy color is a subtle mix of pinks, purples, tans, and reds.   The yarn's subtle color variation is enhanced by the pattern, the Sachy Hat & Mitts by Connie Chang Chinchio.  The pattern uses stockinette stitches and eyelets for a delicate, feminine texture that looks difficult, but is really quite easy.

November's Exclusive Color
The kit includes the yarn and the pattern.  The yarn is Dream in Color's Everlasting DK yarn, a 100% superwash Australian merino wool.  Everlasting DK is soft to the touch, but very durable.  The extra-large skein is enough to make both the hat and the mitts.  The pattern is an electronic download that will be waiting for you in your FiberWild! account immediately after your purchase.

You will also need (not included) US 8/5.00 mm needles, or the size to obtain the gauge of 19 stitches over 4 inches in the eyelet pattern.  You'll need a 16" circular plus a long circular for the magic loop method or double point needles.  In addition you will need stitch markers and a tapestry needle, which are also not included.

Sachy Hat
A fun project in an amazing color and an awesome yarn.  Will you keep the hat and mitts for yourself, or give them as a gift?

All Tahki Stacy Charles Yarns and Patterns are 20% Off!

Fair Isle Hat in Cotton Classic
Tahki Yarns started in 1968 when Diane Friedman discovered a mill in County Donegal Ireland that spun a gorgeous wool tweed.  The result of that trip was Donegal Tweed yarn, a traditional homespun tweed of 100% wool in time-honored colors with tweed accents of coordinating colors.  Donegal Tweed is a classic and remains one of Tahki's most popular yarns.

Diane's quest for perfect yarn continued, and a few years later she discovered a mill in Greece that produced a beautiful mercerized cotton from which she developed Cotton Classic. Cotton Classic is the ultimate in basic cottons - a medium weight 100% cotton in lots of bold colors that works great in lace as well as cables.  Plus it's machine washable and durable!  You can keep your favorite little one warm with the Tahki Fair Isle Hat, or think summer with the lacy come-hither Tahki Sleeveless Dress

During the month of November we are paying tribute to Tahki Yarns with 20% off on all Tahki Stacy Charles yarns and patterns!

Balzac Braided Cowl & Headband
Along with the popular Donegal Tweed and Cotton Classic, some of my Tahki favorites are:
  • Big Montana is, well, BIG!  This super bulky yarn is 100% pure wool roving.  Use a giant size 17 needle for big projects that will take a small amount of time.  I like the Balzac Braided Cowl & Headband.  Those aren't real braids - the cables simulate braids in this quick knit for the holidays project!
  • Ripple is a 100% cotton thick-thin tape construction in bold solid colors that knits into a fun textured fabric.  It's got great drape and subtle sheen to give ordinary cotton some pizazz!  The Tahki Gift Wrap Tabard accents the yarn's character with textured stripes.
  • Aria is a light-as-air wool blend tape yarn in heathered jewel tones.  The feather soft yarn is perfect for a cozy cabled sweater or fluffy cowl!  Go crazy with cables with the Tahki Artistry Pullover!
  • Kismet is a soft and airy brushed alpaca blend yarn in ten calming colors with a fuzzy halo.  The word "kismet" is an old Turkish word for fate or destiny (I love the cheesy 1950s musical Kismet with Howard Keel!).   Your destiny will be lots of hugs in the soft and cuddly Gold Coast Shawl-Collar Cardigan!
Create some great hand-made gifts for the holidays - or treat yourself!

Patterns Powered by Ravelry

We are thrilled to introduce FiberWild!'s Patterns Powered by Ravelry - a huge selection of knitting and crochet patterns!  How huge is huge?  We have 3,493 patterns so far - and we are adding more every day!

So what is Patterns Powered by Ravelry?  We've worked with Ravelry to bring an incredible selection of knitting and crochet patterns to the FiberWild! website.  Ravelry, as you may know, is a free site for knitters and crocheters to share tips, ask questions, give yarn recommendations, and post photos of completed projects.  Our huge collection of FiberWild! patterns have been combined with the enormous selection on Ravelry, so you have access to an incredible array of designs.  You simply choose the pattern you want and add it to your FiberWild! cart, select the yarn and needles you need, and check out!  Your pattern is available immediately after you complete your purchase, and you don't even have to be a Ravelry member!

Braided Back Wristlet
How do I choose a pattern with such a large inventory?  Well, you could scroll through each and every one, but we assume you would rather be knitting than scrolling through thousands of patterns.  So we have an easy search menu so that you can view only the patterns that fit your criteria.  Search based on craft (knitting or crochet), category (accessories, clothing, home, pets), pattern designer, yarn weight, needle size and more!  Your search can be as broad or as pinpointed as you choose.

Bonus:  Your Patterns Powered by Ravelry purchases earn you FiberWild! rewards, just like any other purchases on the website.

April Winds Socks
"Oh no, I want to knit another pair of those socks I made last Christmas but I can't find my pattern!"  You won't say that again, because you can save your pattern in your Ravelry Library and go back to it long after the project is completed and you've lost the paper print-out.

Not a Ravelry member?  You can join Ravelry for free and enjoy the comradery of a community of knitters - but you don't have to.  You can purchase patterns at FiberWild! without a Ravelry membership.  You'll get the same patterns, pay the same price and get the same immediate access to your pattern after your purchase, but you won't have the benefit of storing your patterns in your personal Ravelry library.

Don't like electronic patterns?  Some people just prefer a paper pattern, and we still have our selection of pattern magazines, booklets, pamphlets and hard cover books both online and in the store.

Time to Start your Holiday Knitting!

Christmas Stocking Kits
I had to scrape the frost off my car windows this morning . . .  That can only mean one thing:  Time for holiday knitting!

Have you visited our Holiday Central page yet?  It's full of great ideas for you to knit as gifts - and even has a section on great gifts for your friends to give to you!  The list is huge (we have a lot of great ideas!), but I've picked out a few of my favorites:
    Letah Five Petal Beret
  • Letah Five Petal Beret. I discovered a beautiful five petal doily pattern written by my grandmother Letah in 1942.  But does anyone really use doilys anymore?  The pattern inspired me to design this five petal beret.  It has a timeless shape and a beautiful lace pattern - and, unlike a doily, you can wear it every day!  Choose your favorite Jilly yarn color - on sale at 20% off! - and start knitting!
  • Kenjin Baby or Child Sweater.  "Kenjin" is Japanese for "sage," meaning wise one.  This Japanese inspired cardigan comes in nine sizes, from 3 months to 10 years.  The sweater is terrifically soft knit in Classy With Cashmere.  We've got 30 colors to choose from - and it's all on sale at 20% off!
    Kenjin Baby Sweater
  • Braid Band Hat.   "Head 'n shoulders" above the standard wool stocking hat, the Braid Band Hat has a delightful braided band along the edge.  Great for men or women, you'll keep warm with Brown Sheep's Nature Spun 100% wool in over 20 colors!
  • Christmas Stocking Kits.  These kits include the yarn and pattern to make a fun Christmas stocking, along with other embellishments such as sequins, beads, bells, pom poms, etc.  Great fun to knit, or give a kit to your favorite knitter!
addi Art - 24K Knitting Needles
  • addi Art - 24K.  Do you know a knitter who is as good as gold?  The 24K is the second needle in the addi Art series, an artistic collection of limited edition knitting needles.  As the name implies, this elegant needle boasts 24 karat gold needle tips with a dense coating for added durability and shine.  A beautiful gift for a special knitter!  Bonus:  The addi Art 24K needles are on sale at 20% off!
  • addiQuick.  Love needle felting but hate how long it takes?  The addiQuick is an electric needle felting needle that does all the hard work for you!  And you can save money while you save time - we have the addiQuick on sale at 20% off!
