Fair Isle Hat in Cotton Classic

Tahki Yarns started in 1968 when Diane Friedman discovered a mill in County Donegal Ireland that spun a gorgeous wool tweed.  The result of that trip was Donegal Tweed yarn, a traditional homespun tweed of 100% wool in time-honored colors with tweed accents of coordinating colors.  Donegal Tweed is a classic and remains one of Tahki's most popular yarns. 

Diane's quest for perfect yarn continued, and a few years later she discovered a mill in Greece that produced a beautiful mercerized cotton from which she developed Cotton Classic. Cotton Classic is the ultimate in basic cottons - a medium weight 100% cotton in lots of bold colors that works great in lace as well as cables.  Plus it's machine washable and durable!  You can keep your favorite little one warm with the Tahki Fair Isle Hat, or think summer with the lacy come-hither Tahki Sleeveless Dress.

Balzac Braided Cowl & Headband

Along with the popular Donegal Tweed and Cotton Classic, some of my Tahki favorites are:

• Big Montana is, well, BIG!  This super bulky yarn is 100% pure wool roving.  Use a giant size 17 needle for big projects that will take a small amount of time.  I like the Balzac Braided Cowl & Headband.  Those aren't real braids - the cables simulate braids in this quick knit for the holidays project!
• Ripple is a 100% cotton thick-thin tape construction in bold solid colors that knits into a fun textured fabric.  It's got great drape and subtle sheen to give ordinary cotton some pizazz!  The Tahki Gift Wrap Tabard accents the yarn's character with textured stripes.  
• Aria is a light-as-air wool blend tape yarn in heathered jewel tones.  The feather soft yarn is perfect for a cozy cabled sweater or fluffy cowl!  Go crazy with cables with the Tahki Artistry Pullover!
