So I am thrilled with the timing of Dream in Color's two new yarns, Canyon and Mammoth. Both are bulky weight yarns of 100% extra fine wool yarn that is grown, spun and hand dyed in the USA. "Extra fine" refers to the diameter of each individual strand of wool hair - the thinner the fiber, the softer the wool. Extra fine wool has the famous warmth of wool with the softness of a luxury fiber.

So what's the difference? Mammoth is a bulkier bulky. Canyon's gauge is 14 stitches for a 4.0 inch swatch and a recommend needed size of 9 or 10 US. Mammoth's gauge is 12 stitches for a 4.0 inch swatch and the recommended needle size is 11.
So choose your bulkiness - and start knitting some quick, warm winter gear!
- The
Two by Two Scarf Pattern is a quick, easy knit perfect for late winter chills. I recommend the less-bulky Canyon for the Two by Two Scarf.
Mammoth in Jay Feather - You can keep on texting while you stay warm with the Apollinaire fingerless mitts knit with Canyon.
- With so many gorgeous colors why choose just one? Get four-color funky when you knit the Cendrars mittens with Canyon.
- The Crystal cowl is a cabled cowl knit flat and grafted together. Super fast with Mammoth yarn!
- The Five Cable Scarf is pretty - and knits up quick in Mammoth.
Happy Knitting . . . . Amy
