Double Diamond Shawl Pattern FREE with Serenity Silk + Yarn

If diamonds are a girl's best friend, then the Double Diamond Shawl is a girl's BFF!

The Double Diamond Shawl is a simple and elegant design that incorporates small central-edge and bottom-edge lace panels to make an approachable pattern look masterful.  The shape is roughly triangular and uses just one skein of Serenity Silk +So how do you get the pattern?  It's FREE with the purchase Serenity Silk + yarn!

Zen Yarn Garden's Serenity Silk + is a two-ply blend of superwash merino wool, cashmere, and silk that offers stunning stitch definition in a soft, luxurious fabric. The wool provides a nice basic structure, the cashmere offers a little decadent softness, and the silk adds to the drape and sheen of this fingering-weight yarn that's beautifully hand-dyed.  We have 13 gorgeous colors in stock, but if that's not enough we also have 90 special order colors available!

Bonus:  All Zen Yarn Garden yarns are on sale at 20% off until February 2nd!  The sale includes both in-stock and special order colors!

The body of the shawl is knit on 40″ circular needles, though long straight needles would do if you're uncomfortable on circulars. The shawl is finished with a very simple crochet trim bind off. Even if you're a novice crocheter, you will have no trouble with this easy edging.

You will need one 40″ size US 6 / 4.0 mm and one size US 5 / 3.75 mm circular needle. I like the addi Turbos, and I also suggest the addi Rockets if you like a sharper point. Adjust the needle size to obtain gauge if necessary, and no, the length isn't important on the smaller needle. You'll also need a US C / 3.0 mm crochet hook for the crocheted bind-off and edging. Don't worry!  If you have even the most basic crochet skills, you should be fine. I highly recommend the addi Swing Crochet Hook for a nice comfortable grip or the more traditional and affordable addi Color Coded Crochet Hook; both have the same nickel-plated surface as addi Turbo knitting needles. And a couple of stitch markers would definitely be handy!

Wrap yourself  in the luxury of diamonds and silk!

Happy Knitting . . . . Amy
